Senior High School Department Objectives

         In line with the vision-mission of Kong Hua School, the Senior High School envisions to produce holistically developed graduates with 21st century skills and who are college ready and work ready.
        KHS Senior High School provides students learning engagements that equip them values, knowledge and skills essential to the demands of 21st century educational standards in order to prepare them in the pursuit of higher education and productive career in the service of God and country.

A. ABM (Accountancy, Business and Management)

This strand provides the learners:
    1. avenue to cultivate and nourish the core values of school which are service, excellence, love and faith (SELF);
    2. knowledge and tools necessary for a successful higher education and   employment in entrepreneurship, banking, accountancy, finance, and management in the corporate setting and in the tourism and hotel and restaurant industries
    3. skills in problem solving and critical thinking;
    4. practical management learning experiences through cooperative and/or internship programs;
    5. awareness of ethical, local and global issues to make sound decisions; 
    6. fundamental business knowledge and skills, values and attitudes, so that  they can perform their roles competently and confidently as consumers, investors, employees and/or entrepreneurs; and 
    7. skills in culinary arts, food and beverages as their additional skills and   competencies.

B. HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences)

 This strand provides the learners:
    1. avenue to cultivate and nourish the core values of school which are service, excellence, love and faith (SELF).
    2. leadership positions in their particular disciplines by assisting them to   develop the abilty to think analytically and critically;
    3. trainings and opportunities to become catalysts of change, responsible and  productive citizens, and servant-leaders in their communities;
    4. knowledge, skills, and values preparing them to become artists, speakers,   writers, journalists, reporters, judges, pastoral, counselors, attorneys, historians, sociologists, politicians, musicians, educators, researchers, and priests or nuns;
    5. understanding of their cultural heritage , customs and traditions, as   reflected in the humanities and social sciences;  
    6. appreciation of human values and social traits necessary for a wholesome and abundant life in local community, national and in world arena; and 
    7. journalistic and creative writing/ “malikhaing pagsulat” skills as their additional skills and competencies.

C. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)

  This strand provides the learners:  
    1. avenue to cultivate and nourish the core values of school which are service, excellence, love and faith (SELF).
    2. teaching-learning activities that connect science and technology to real-life problems through project-based and lab-based learnings with the use of technology  supported tool;
    3. competencies and approaches required in Science, Technology,     Engineering, and  Mathematics courses in college;
    4. activities that require critical and creative thinking skills for scientific inquiry necessary in solving problems; 
    5. opportunities to demonstrate scientific information literacy through:
      1. understanding of appropriate scientific concept;
      2. supporting conclusions with scientific facts and evidences;
      3. using library and information technology
    6. situational applications of scientific process skills, attitudes, and values in the  preservation of life and environment;     
    7. values, knowledge and skills to become innovators and scientists
